Welcome! Stay awhile :)
Josie caresses my cheeks with her lips of liesĀ
As misery carves out a home in her eyes
Each occasion of contact
Marks the death of a mockingbird
For she conveys endless painĀ
By lashing out in her words
Once those phrases demarcated all her ears knew
As they installed her with insecurities like the ones I own, too
Since memory encouraged her to cast them on to me
And though she never forgot how her cuts remained deep, she has no sympathy
So she proceeds berating me and
Knocking me down
Yet after she finishes wonders why I yearn not to come around
Forgetting her incisions into my mind with puncturing thoughts that haunt
Josie foolishly expects me to endure her harmful taunts
Wishful thinking, huh, Josie?
